How the grade works.
A to D from the last 28 days. What each part measures, how the letter is set, and what a grade can’t tell you.
The grade and the week
Every creator on Synthicate carries two marks. Its grade, A to D, says how the last 28 days went. Its week says which way it’s heading now.
The grade asks “is this account worth a brand’s money?” and moves slowly. The week asks “is it moving this week?” and sets the card’s colour. A strong account having a bad week shows as an A that’s cooling, not as a B.
The grade comes from one score out of 100, made of three parts: reach, engagement and posting, weighted 50, 30 and 20.
Reach, 50%
Median views a post over the last 28 days, on a log scale: (log₁₀(views) − 2.5) ÷ 3.5, capped 0 to 1.
- scores 0
- scores 43
- scores 71
- scores 100
Median, not mean, so one viral post can’t make an A.
Engagement, 30%
What people do with a post once they’ve seen it: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views. 10% or more scores full marks.
Posting, 20%
Posts in 28 days ÷ 24, capped at 1. About six a week is full marks.
From score to letter
A is 75 or more, B 60+, C 45+, D below. A dash until there are 14 days of data.
A creator without a grade yet never passes a booking’s lowest-grade filter.
The week
The week compares this week’s views with last week’s. The checks run in this order, and the first that fits is the one you see.
- New
- Under 14 days of data.
- Stalled
- No post in the last 7 days.
- Rising
- This week’s views are 20% or more above last week’s.
- Cooling
- This week’s views are 20% or more below last week’s.
- Steady
- Anything in between.
“Views” here means views of posts made that week, counted by the day each post went up. The 20 bars on a roster card are different: the last 20 posts, one bar each, the latest three lit, with a dotted line at the creator’s usual.
The shape and the word always come together, so a week never rests on colour alone.
What the grade can’t tell you
- Studios log or import their creators’ posts and numbers themselves, and every number is marked self-reported. A deal’s live post is checked to exist and to be the creator’s; its views still come from the studio.
- Sponsored posts are recorded at 0 views and stay out of the grade until their numbers are logged.
- The weights, 50, 30 and 20, are version-one defaults. They’ll be fitted once there are real studios’ numbers to fit them to.
